What commercial truck transmissions and drivetrains do students work on?
You will train on industry-standard Eaton Fuller 10-speed manual and automated manual transmissions, heavy-duty twin-countershaft systems, two-plate ceramic pull-type clutches, drivelines, universal joints, and Meritor drive axle carrier differentials.
Will I learn how to pull, replace, and adjust a heavy-duty clutch?
Yes. Students learn how to remove heavy-duty transmissions, inspect flywheels and pilot bearings, install two-plate ceramic clutch discs, set release bearing free-play, and properly install clutch brake assemblies.
Do you teach differential setup and driveline angle phasing?
Yes. The drivetrain module covers drive shaft universal joint replacement, center support carrier bearing alignment, phase angles, and rear differential ring-and-pinion backlash inspection on commercial tandem axles.
How much does the heavy-duty drivetrain class cost?
Total tuition for the complete commercial truck repair program (including the drivetrain module) is $1,875 with an initial down payment of $475. Flexible pay-as-you-go installments are available with 0% interest.
Can I take drivetrain classes on weekends while working a weekday job?
Yes! Training takes place every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in our Tehachapi fleet yard, allowing students to preserve their weekday income while mastering heavy-duty transmissions.
